Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 16 March 1988. Jenkins discusses her early life in Nashville, Tennessee, her family experiences, her religious activities, and her educational background. She talks about moving to St. Louis, Missouri as a civil service worker and her courtship and marriage. She describes her conversion to the Mormon CHurch and its influence on her life. She explains how she has been accepted by white Mormons and her experiences as a Mormon.
